About SIMHA
The School Initiative for Mental Health Advocacy (SIMHA) is a field action project of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, working towards creating sustainable mental health friendly educational institutes across India through scientifically rigorous research, higher-level advocacy, and capacity building programmes with the aim of promoting the well-being and mental health of young people in India. Embedded in the core values of integrity, collaboration, diversity, intersectionality, equity, and social justice, SIMHA operates through a strengths-based approach to establish schools and colleges as communities of care for all school stakeholders.
